Yuga Labs drops Meebit’s NFT Collectible Music Album made with AI by DailyCoin
Meebit’s NFT by Yuga Labs teamed up with generative artificial intelligence music platform WarpSound to release their debut album. Two months ago, Yuga Labs formed a strategic partnership with WarpSound, releasing nine Meebit NFT songs throughout the period.
Ever since, Meebits, the 3D voxel characters, have been putting in the work in the digital recording studio. The AI-generated 3D characters are now releasing their own AI-produced album, entitled “Meebits Turn On”.

Meebits Turn It On: 22 Songs Sung by 3D Avatars
Additionally, not only is the album free to claim for all Meebit NFT holders, but crypto enthusiasts who didn’t get the chance to get a Meebit NFT can log into the music streaming service of their choice and play the 22-song album. The debut album of Meebit’s NFT consists of 13 never-before-heard songs and a license to use them in any creative project.
However, the process is simple for those who want to get the blockchain version of the new Meebit’s NFT album. Once the NFT enthusiast covers the gas fee, Meebit’s Turn On album will be converted into a “playable NFT album” on OpenSea and other popular NFT marketplaces.

The controversial role of AI in the music industry
Artificial intelligence in music and art has been a hot topic for quite some time. On the one hand, this ground-breaking technology gives birth to a new generation of music and art. For example, Tyler Hobbs’ generative art project QQL NFT has been very successful, as many NFT enthusiasts wanted to see what kind of art they could come up with, with little or no knowledge of it.
On the other hand, many creators are concerned that AI taking over the art sphere could make many talented artists feel redundant. Effortless AI technology can take away the joy of the creative process, raising the question of whether it should still be considered art.
While some crypto enthusiasts believe that creating music with AI is “no different than using a guitar distortion pedal”, it can also be argued that music samples and loops have been around for a while. However, crypto enthusiast Felipe Oliveira came up with a rhetorical question that perfectly captures the two divided camps regarding music and AI: “If you write a code, such as a social media app, that people use to commit crimes, are you a criminal? “
Music yes, but art?

On the other side
- Previously, Yuga Labs launched the first ever metaverse band called KINGSHIP.
- KINGSHIP is also preparing their debut album. However, the Web3 tape is only partially made with AI.
- BAYC’s metaverse band welcomed well-known producers Hit-Boy and James Fauntleroy, who has worked with Jay-Z and Beyonce.
