The long-awaited mint for y00ts’ t00b NFTs, originally scheduled for September 4th, was delayed. Consequently, the team received a “blocking error” five minutes before starting the embossing session. The project founders promised to bring embossing live 24 hours after the first date.
As the team tries to solve all the problems, DeGods’ founder Frank tries to apologize – but what is the reaction of the NFT community?
y00t’s NFT mint is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated drops this season. Collectors have been applying to their whitelist program for grants for months, hoping to land a spot. Only accepted individuals were given the chance to mint t00bs – the NFTs required to mint y00ts.
Initially, everyone was waiting for the marking day on 4 September at 2 p.m. PST.
When mint day came, however, there were problems for y00t’s founding team at DeGods. Initially, the team had to delay the embossing for 24 hours due to what they called a “blocking error”.
“Due to the nature of this bug, we don’t feel comfortable bringing the coin live right now,” they tweeted. “The coin will probably be around 24 hours from now.”
In other words, y00ts canceled the highly anticipated NFT coin just five minutes before it was supposed to go live.
On September 5, the y00ts founder was known as Frank DeGods addressed the incident in a Twitter thread:
“I’m disappointed in myself and our team, but I’m not worried,” he wrote. “Clearly none of our plans changed today … just a stark wake-up call about how badly we need to fix this delaying issue.”
In addition, Frank promised all collectors that y00ts NFT coin will be a remarkable experience. He also mentioned that the team has some exciting announcements to reveal soon.
So far, the project has received mixed reactions from the NFT community. Some collectors kept their hopes high, while others seemed less than happy about the exposed coin.
Anyway, all eyes are on the y00ts as the accepted scholarship applicants wait anxiously to start minting their t00b NFTs.
In short, y00ts is a collection of 15,000 avatar-style NFTs that live on the Solana blockchain. The project comes from the creators of DeGods, the most successful Solana NFT collectibles to date.
The hype around y00ts increased even more after revealing their minting strategy. Basically, every collector accepted on the y00t list is eligible to mint a t00b NFT. Then, buyers can burn t00bs to make y00ts NFTs anytime they want.
