Why Bitcoin, Ethereum, and the Shiba Inu Are Falling

Many cryptocurrencies continued to slide on Friday as investors digest the fallout from the crypto bank Silvergate capital (NYSE: SI) and evaluate its ability to remain in business.

The price of the world’s largest cryptocurrency, Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC), is trading 4.3% lower than late yesterday afternoon from 10 ET today. The price of the world’s second largest cryptocurrency, Ethereum (CRYPTO: ETH)is about 4.1% lower, while the price of the meme token Shiba Inu (CRYPTO: SHIB) is down 5.8 percent.

So what?

After the market closed on Wednesday, Silvergate filed a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), saying it would have to delay filing its annual report as it analyzed the impact of several events on its business.
