Wawa adds NFT Topping to Hoagiefest

WAWA, Pa. – Wawa has launched a brand new 2022 Hoagiefest competition, which gives customers a chance to win digital collectibles NFTs (non-fungible tokens) and Hoagiefest swag. The NFTs will be released through a customer competition with 12 unique animated NFTs and thousands of generative NFTs inspired by past and present Hoagiefest artwork.

NFTs are digital assets with unique identification codes and metadata that make each one unique and can be distinguished from each other. These collectibles are unique and can represent real-world objects, including art, music, videos and more. The Wawa Hoagiefest NFT collection is based on designs and visual elements from past and present Hoagiefest commercial illustrations. These illustrations were then used to create a series of more than 5,000 unique collectibles from Hoagiefest NFT, including 12 rare, animated NFTs and 5,000 generative NFTs that include a variety of characters, backgrounds, hoagies and accessories.

“Our Hoagiefest campaign has always been filled with fun images over the years – from our hoagie wraps to our commercials to our partners’ in-store t-shirts,” said Todd Miller, senior director of brand strategy and experience at Wawa. “Today we are excited to bring a whole new way to Hoagiefest through NFTs.”

Through July 24, entrants can participate in the Wawa Hoagiefest NFT competition by going to the landing page and submitting their contact information. In total, Wawa plans to create and give away more than 5,000 NFTs along with dozens of real prizes and surprises for a select group of winners. The winners will receive a combination of NFT and real prizes:

• 11 award winners will receive an animated Wawa NFT inspired by past or current Hoagiefest promotions, a personalized t-shirt that matches their NFT artwork and a Hoagiefest social swag package.
• One award winner will receive an animated Wawa NFT inspired by past or current Hoagiefest campaigns cobranded with Reese’s, a personalized t-shirt matching their NFT artwork, a Hoagiefest social swag pack and a Reese’s swag pack.
• 50 prize winners will receive a generative NFT, NFT t-shirt and a Hoagiefest social swag package.
• A total of 3,950 prize winners will receive one generative NFT.

Wawa, Pa. -Based Wawa offers customizable hoagies through its touch screen order. Wawa hoagies are available in Junior, Shorti and Classic sizes, all of which are part of this year’s Hoagiefest. Wawa Hoagiefest was introduced in the summer of 2008. It has since grown to become an annual multi-week celebration. This year, the Hoagiefest runs from June 20 to July 31 and includes $ 5 Shortis and $ 6 Classic Hoagies.
