Music industry giant Warner Music Group partnered with digital fashion platform DressX to provide Web3 enthusiasts and music lovers with virtual merchandise, or as they call it – “verch”. The new collaboration will give birth to a series of 3D avatars layered with exclusivity.

As the transition from username and password login to digital identity in Web3 is already taking place, Warner Music Group digital manager Oana Ruxandra explained why the transition to producing digital clothing puts both musicians and fans one step ahead.

“The representation of our future digital selves will be just as important, and if you measure by the volume of interactions, perhaps more important than how we represent ourselves physically,” – explained Ruxandra. In fact, the wearable 3D avatars are compatible with the most popular social media platforms, including Facebook (NASDAQ: ) and Instagram.

WMG makes a strong entry into Web3

The giant music label has formed a number of significant collaborations so far this year. First, Warner Brothers partnered with the popular blockchain-based game The Sandbox (SAND) to create their first metaverse music experience. It resembles a musical theme park and a venue combined, with unlimited opportunities for engagement between fans and artists.

Second, the major music company reaffirmed its focus on Web3 when it teamed up with the largest NFT marketplace, OpenSea, to set up dedicated pages for music artists on the leading NFT platform.

Third, Warner Music Group (WMG) started a dedicated subdivision for NFTs and Web3 ventures. Crypto enthusiasts seeking exclusive content from their most beloved artists can acquire the NFT Label Pass. In some cases, the NFT Label Pass gives you ownership of the soundtrack, while also serving as a ticket to real exclusive events, like meet and greets.

On the other side

  • The recent Web3 music festival by Decentraland, another popular blockchain game, did not attract as much interest as expected.
