Twitter reacts to Donald Trump’s “embarrassing” NFT launch
Donald Trump teased a major announcement earlier this week with a caricature of himself claiming “America needs a superhero.”
On Thursday morning, the tease was revealed, when the former president announced his NFT collection Donald Trump Trading Cards! “Very much like a baseball card,” Trump said to help his target demo better understand what NFTs are. Only now, Trump fans who grew up collecting baseball cards won’t be able to stick their NFTs between the spokes of the bike.
“BIG ANNOUNCEMENT! My official Donald Trump Digital Trading Card collection is here!” boasted the former president. “These limited edition cards feature amazing ART of my Life & Career! Collect all your favorite Trump Digital Trading Cards, very much like a baseball card, but hopefully much more exciting. Go to collecttrumpcards.com/ and GET YOUR CARDS NOW! Only $99 each! Would make a great Christmas present. Don’t wait. They will disappear, I think, very quickly!”
Shortly after unveiling his new venture, Trump accompanied the announcement with a viral video scrolling through some of the fun images now available as NFTs.
All I can say is that those of us who have lost friends, fought with relatives, resigned from positions, been called traitors, left our party, all because we saw very clearly what a fraud, huckster and deceiver this man is, have never felt more justified. pic.twitter.com/9qrSNHg2re

“This is Donald Trump, hopefully your favorite president of all time. Better than Lincoln, better than Washington,” Trump humbly began the video. “These cards feature some of the truly incredible artwork that pertains to my life and career, it’s been really exciting.”
Images related to his life and career as Trump with Superman’s physique, Trump as an astronaut, Trump riding a horse, Trump riding an elephant, Trump carved into Mount Rushmore. The NFTs are all Trump sees when he looks in the mirror in the morning. However, Twitter saw right through Trump’s delusion and reacted accordingly.
Imagine paying $99 to have an NFT of Trump cosplaying as a superhero. How embarrassing

I don’t think I’ve ever had more second-hand embarrassment than I do right now after watching Trump’s “big announcement.” pic.twitter.com/GPCnotXboW

Today’s Trump announcement is the closest we’ll ever get to a concession speech. #Sad

I have been offered substantial sums of money to promote NFTs and declined.
They are obviously scams and have no real value.
Not sure why anyone would hang them to their followers.
