Toon icon Betty Boop plays in new NFT collection

Animation’s most famous flapper, Betty Boop, keeps cheering even in the 90s when the Max Fleischer character boop-oop-a-doops into the meta-verse with his own non-fungible food.

Fleischer Studios, Inc., owners of the classic character, have teamed up with leading brand licensing firm Global Icons, LLC (globalicons.com) and Web3 brand consulting firm XLABEL (xlabel.io) to create Boop & Frens, an exclusive NFT collection focused on bringing together Betty Boop’s worldwide fan community. The collection is a tribute to the character, described as a long-standing “global symbol of independence, kindness, style and universal acceptance.”

The NFT collection marks Betty Boop’s first step into Web3’s digital art world. The launch will release 8,888 unique NFTs, with Betty Boop styled in digital fashion clothing and accessories as seen in her classic comics and designed by MYAMI Studio (myami.studio), known for creating digital high fashion that can be worn and traded in virtual realities.

Boop & Frens August 9, the official “Betty Boop Day” and the anniversary of Betty’s big screen debut in 1930 in Dizzy dishes. The NFTs celebrate the animated champion of empowerment and ambassador for goodwill and joy, and will offer holders multi-layered tools – from access to virtual wearables to unique fan experiences in the metaverse.

Betty’s design was inspired by the Jazz Age flaps and singers of the 1920s, and her distinctive voice was provided by Mae Questel.
