The Pokemon Company job listing suggests an NFT/Blockchain approach

The Pokemon Company is one of the most controversial game companies due to the recent decisions surrounding recent titles in the Pokemon franchise. Despite this, the gaming giant seems to be looking to expand its territory into Web3 and thus blockchain technologies and NFTs. This is all according to a recent job posting that seeks to bring in enterprise-level developers with NFT, Web3, and metaverse experience.

The job listing, which can be seen below, was spotted on The Pokemon Company International’s Greenhouse page (via LinkedIn), where all of the company’s job postings are posted. The job description aims for the person filling the role to specialize in corporate strategy, relationships and development/innovation within Web3 technologies.

So, yes, it seems that the next approach for The Pokemon Company will be to deal with NFTs and blockchain ventures. How charming. Of course, while that’s the obvious speculation one would make, it also doesn’t mean there will be an immediate transition for The Pokemon Company. At the very least, the listing suggests TPC is interested in learning more about the space and isn’t listing any projects, especially at the moment.

The listing also says the successful applicant will have an “excellent business acumen and ability to connect the relevance of potential partners or technologies with Pokémon’s existing assets,” with applicants encouraged to be “deeply connected to a network of investors and entrepreneurs in the technology” . sectors above (Web3 and metaverse).”

This, of course, means that The Pokemon Company will join the likes of Square Enix, SEGA, Ubisoft, and Konami in the ever-growing number of companies that have shown interest in NFTs and the blockchain. While of course this venture has proven quite damaging in terms of pushback from the gaming community, it is still something that companies have shown interest in since it involves a new method of revenue collection.

In the meantime, we’re going to be left with questions about Pokemon’s future while this new roster is filled. What will The Pokemon Company’s approach bring to the table? Will there be a demand for Pokemon NFTs? What do you think of this new job advertisement? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below, and be sure to stay tuned for updates on this developing story.
