The NFT platform OneOf chooses Ziggy Marley for its latest artist collaboration

We may be in the middle of an NFT bear market, but that doesn’t seem to be slowing down young platform OneOf from continuing to make new collaborations. The sustainability-focused platform continues its tear of new established partners, this time with award-winning artists Ziggy Marley.

Let’s take a look at what we know from the new partnership as their upcoming release date for the NFT collection approaches.

NFTs that give back

According to a press release obtained by Bitcoinist, Ziggy and OneOf will release their first collection on October 17 – Ziggy’s birthday. The release is expected to include an unreleased demo version of Marley’s single, “Beach In Hawaii.” The eight-time GRAMMY winner will also be releasing a series of “IRL experiences” with the NFT release. It is intended to include physical merchandise, such as a signed guitar and lifetime access to Ziggy’s headlining show, as well as more collaborative and intimate experiences, such as the opportunity to create a collaborative merchandise release (with the winner keeping 50% of the royalties generated from the merchandise drop).

Not only do Ziggy and OneOf launch unique experiences, but the proceeds also go to a good cause. Proceeds from the NFT sale will go to Ziggy’s charity, the URGE Foundation (which stands for Unlimited. Resources. Giving. Enlightenment.) – which supports education and health for children in Marley’s native Jamaica.

OneOf Building In Bearish Times

OneOf continues to build in 2022 despite broader market weather. The platform has secured artist-direct partnerships with the likes of Doja Cat and John Legend, and has clearly leveraged its entertainment and digital media backgrounds brought over by its executives; in addition, music has clearly been a focal point as the platform was co-founded by Quincy Jones. Additionally, broader brand and property partnerships have also helped fuel OneOf’s growth, including the GRAMMYs, Warner Music Group and more.

The platform has also carved out a positioning around sustainability, by leveraging two of the more “green” blockchains in crypto using Polygon and Tezos. OneOf’s VP of Music, Thomas Fiss, stated in the press release:

“Ziggy is a legendary musical giant and we are very grateful to have him join the list of notable musicians working with OneOf to venture into Web3… We are honored to be the NFT platform connecting Ziggy with his fans in new and innovative ways. “
