Last year, the US Grammy Awards announced a multi-year NFT partnership with Tezos-based NFT platform OneOf.

Now the Latin Grammy Awards also announced a collaboration with OneOf for the Latin Grammy Awards 2022.

“To honor and celebrate Latin music and its talented creators around the world, OneOf is thrilled to partner with The Latin Recording Academy for the 2022 Latin GRAMMY Awards, the biggest night in Latin music!

Bridging the worlds of music and visual arts, the 2022 Latin GRAMMYs Collection begins with a FREE NFT designed from a custom-made Latin GRAMMYs-themed mural painted by Michoacán-based artist, Quetzal Fuerte.

The free NFT also comes with exclusive 2022 Latin GRAMMY Awards vault content.”

The Latin GRAMMY Awards are hosted by the Miami-based Latin Recording Academy. Mainly, music with Spanish and Portuguese lyrics is awarded in this award ceremony.

It is broadcast by the American television network Univision, which is America’s largest provider of Spanish-language content.

The award ceremony was founded in 2000 and has had between 7.5 and 2.7 million viewers in the US.

Juan “Quetzal” Fuerte

“Juan “Quetzal” Fuerte describes himself as an urban acupuncturist.

Instead of needles, he uses a paintbrush to bring healing to the pressure points of cities, covering empty spaces with colorful, allusive art that depicts the highs and lows of modern life while giving its residents respite.

After studying architecture, Juan José Villaseñor Fuerte began his painting career in his hometown of Morelia, Mexico, which is also the site of his largest work to date, a 72-meter giant titled “Fuerza del Trabajador.”

Heir to the proud legacy of Mexican muralism, Fuerte also cites influences from further afield and works in a variety of other mediums.

Among his most recent projects is the cover of the 23rd Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards® program book and accompanying mural, which depicts a variety of musical instruments to illustrate the multifaceted Latino experience through the juxtaposition of light and dark colors.

The NFTs that are part of the OneOf drops often have real benefits and can provide access to related experiences.

From VIP access to concerts, to meet and greets and even coop admissions in some cases.
