The Bitcoin blockchain data layer is a game-changer, Nicolas Wellinger tells CoinGeek Backstage

Dr. Wright’s Masterclasses were comprehensive, but not too technical, so that even those without a programming background could better understand Bitcoin, Wellinger told CoinGeek Backstage reporter Becky Liggero on the sidelines of the event.

The sessions “reminded me of university lectures, but much more practical. He [Satoshi] gives good and simple examples … He kept it at a business and application level and it was very interesting,” expressed Wellinger.

Using Bitcoin as a computer ledger was among the topics Dr. Wright has hammered on for years. While still dependent on the data it is fed, Bitcoin ensures that once the data is recorded, it is almost impossible to change, and any changes are documented.

“For more than a decade, I questioned why we don’t have one data record. Why do we have to duplicate records and then have falsified information? His approach to one source of truth, and then allowing people with different permissions to look at and use that data, is the real deal,” Wellinger told CoinGeek Backstage.
