The NFT platform Candy Digital has released another “Stranger Things” mini-game for Netflix, where players must solve puzzles to earn NFTs from the stars of the show. But some fans are not happy.
“Stranger Things” NFTs are 11,111 unique tokens on Candy Digitals Palm blockchain – a Ethereum create 2 side chains – which means ownership of one of five digital posters.
Back in April, Netflix quietly teased the NFT collaboration with hidden messages in the season 4 trailer for its original hit show.
Last week, around 4,700 players earned a free NFT poster of Eleven, starring the show played by Millie Bobbie Brown, by playing a mysterious game involving a virtual “Stranger Things” lab.
This week, a new round of the mini-game goes live since. Players must solve “I’m the master of hell”Puzzles to earn one of four free NFT posters by Mike Wheeler, Jonathan Byers, Will Byers or Argyle.
The response to the news was mixed. Some crypto enthusiasts and fans of the show said they enjoyed the mini-game.
Among those interested in earning NFTs, at least one “Stranger Things” fan reported that he was repeatedly logged out of his account while trying to complete the challenge.

But when “Stranger Things” Twitter account divided The NFT news last week was furious with other fans.
“Do you think we care about NFTs?” a fan wrotealong with a GIF of a man shooting a gun. Another “Stranger Things” fan wrote of NFT technology as a “grift”.
“I love Stranger Things deeply, but I’m deeply disappointed that Netflix decided it would be a good idea to run an NFT grip on fans,” the fans wrote. “I do not come close to this rubbish.”

NFT setbacks are nothing new – in the video game industry, many were furious at Ubisoft’s pressure Tezos NFTs and Square Enixhis interest in NFT games. Fans’ rage against NFTs has even led to cancellation of several indie games NFT integrations.
Candy’s Netflix NFTs and mini-games mark the platform’s first foray into major Hollywood partnerships. Before Netflix, Candy established a partnership with Major League Baseball (MLB), the WWEand Getty pictures.
