Exciting news for all music lovers out there! Spotify has come up with a new way to take the audio experience to the next level. Spotify is piloting NFT playlists that can only be unlocked by holders. This new service will enable Web3 communities to curate music specifically for members.

Can you imagine having access to a playlist that only you and a select few members have access to? Well, it is now a reality! Spotify is testing this new feature with just a handful of NFT communities, and the lucky ones include gaming startup Overlord and Bored Ape band KINGSHIP.
This new pilot program is sure to bring the music community closer and let them experience the latest music like never before. Regular Spotify users will not be able to access the closed playlists, making the experience even more special for those who have access.
Overlord, a gaming ecosystem that has seen nearly $60 million in volume transacted, is one of the lucky communities chosen to participate in the pilot. Holders of Creepz NFT tokens can access the “Invasion” playlist by connecting their Web3 wallets on Spotify. Creepz are lizard-like creatures that feature in Overlord’s game ecosystem. This is just the beginning of Overlord’s sonic adventure, and we can’t wait to see what they come up with next!

Universal Music Group’s virtual band KINGSHIP has also announced a similar Spotify-affiliated service. KINGSHIP Key Card NFT gives users access to a themed virtual world, unlock music, products and other experiences, including a specially curated playlist available only to NFT holders. The playlist includes tracks from some of the biggest names in the music business, such as Queen, Missy Elliott, Snoop Dogg and Led Zeppelin.
With this new feature, Web3 communities can curate exclusive music experiences and members can feel a sense of belonging, knowing they are part of something unique.
