Snoop Dogg joins Crypto Casino as Chief Ganjaroo Officer
Cryptocurrency casino Roobet announced on March 1 its partnership with iconic rapper Snoop Dogg in a move that aims to “reinvent” the online entertainment industry.
According to Roobet’s official site, Snoop Dogg and the casino will work together to “shake up the industry and bring players a unique gaming experience,” thanks to the rapper’s decades-long career in the entertainment industry. Dogg’s role in the company? Chief Ganjaroo Officer.
As Chief Ganjaroo Officer, Snoop Dogg will help Roobet achieve its expansion goals. Roobet says the partnership “will bring together Snoop’s vast global reach and industry expertise” to the table.
Snoop Dogg is widely known in the cryptocurrency industry for being one of the biggest NFT collectors who has fueled its growth by backing successful projects like Yuga Labs. He has been identified as the man behind the famous but pseudonymous NFT collector Cozomo de’ Medici, making him the owner of millions of dollars in non-fungible tokens ranging from metaverse lands to “blue chip” collections.
Snoop aims to transform the entertainment industry
The rapper stated that he has long felt like a part of the Roobet family, as he shares the same vision and enthusiasm as the company to do new and innovative things for their fans.
“This partnership just feels natural and we’re going to blaze a trail for the future of online entertainment. I’ve been saying Roooooo for a long time now – they provide the ultimate player experience, we share a love of doing new things and we care about our fans – so together we’re going to change the game and make it better than it’s ever been done”
Matt Duea, one of the co-founders of Roobet, said that from day one, the Roobet team wanted to bring the world of entertainment closer to iGaming. He believes Snoop Dogg can be a major player in this mission, considering that he is one of the most recognized celebrities in the music (and NFT) industry.
“Since day one, our mission has been to push the boundaries of what a gaming brand can be, and Snoop is a true visionary. Together, we will truly revolutionize the electronic entertainment experience,” added Duea.
Duea further stated that Roobet is committed to creating a gaming platform that provides the “most exciting and immersive” casino experience in the world.
To celebrate this partnership, Roobet will be holding a number of cash prize draws of up to $100 each day for a week starting March 1st. Users must place a bet to enter the draw and winners will be announced the following day.
Roobet offers a wide selection of games, including live casino games, slots and table games. The platform is available in multiple languages and accepts multiple cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Dogecoin.
Snoop Dogg’s love for cryptocurrency
Partnering with a crypto casino is just another of Snoop Dogg’s endeavors. The rapper has been involved in crypto for a long time. He has been a vocal supporter of Bitcoin since at least 2013.
In 2018, Snoop Dogg appeared as a special guest at the XRP Community Night during the Consensus blockchain conference in New York City. During the event, he talked about his love for cryptocurrency and even received a gift of XRP from Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse.
But not everything has been pretty in Dogg’s history. He has promoted various ICOs that have not been successful, such as “sparkleCoin” and “Billionare token.”
Snoop Dogg has also been involved in the NFT space, releasing his own collection of digital artwork, including one that featured a smoking skeleton with the words “Ain’t No Fun” across it. He also performed live with Eminem using his NFT avatar as part of the show and has helped other artists enter the space.
Also, his pseudonymous alter ego donated 22 NFTs worth over $2 million to the LACMA museum recently in an effort to spread appreciation for digital art and non-fungible tokens as a legitimate form of art. According to CNBC, his NFT collection is worth approximately $17 million.
