Scotland’s largest fintech festival to address “economic and social challenges”
The event will take place over four weeks in September and October and will be the fifth fintech festival organized by the industry body FinTech Scotland.
Every year since 2018, the festival has showcased the growing innovation across the fintech cluster that involves a diversity of business leaders and organizations.
The organizers said that all indications were that this autumn’s event would be even bigger than previous years with the participation of “leading entrepreneurs, innovators and decision makers from all over the UK and the world”.
The 2022 festival will place particular emphasis on the growing collaboration across the UK that enables the progress of the fintech roadmap for research and innovation launched in March by FinTech Scotland.
The festival will open on 15 September with the annual fintech summit at Dynamic Earth, Edinburgh and end on 6 October with an evening of awards recognizing the achievements of people and organizations across the industry cluster.
Nicola Anderson, CEO of FinTech Scotland, said: “The festival has grown every year, despite the pandemic, and for 2022 I look forward to more personal events. The four weeks are an ideal opportunity to share how collaborative innovation plays a key role to play in the face of economic and social challenges. “
A highlight will be the UK Fintech Symposium, held at NatWest’s Gogarburn Headquarters on 22 September, which will bring together all UK regional fintech clusters as well as government ministers, regulators and fintech innovation influencers to discuss financial innovation contributions to economic recovery.
Stephen Ingledew, Chairman of FinTech Scotland and Host of the UK FinTech Assembly, says: “The festival will celebrate how fintech is largely a ‘team’ activity and how this UK innovation approach to innovation nurtures sustainable growth and job creation, as well as a positive social impact for the benefit of all UK regions and communities. “
FinTech Scotland is a non-profit cluster body established jointly by the financial sector, universities and the Scottish Government / Scottish Government. The organization functions as a strategic enabler and cluster management body.
