Salesforce will be integrated with TikTok and new NFT platform
Salesforce, the cloud-based software company specializing in Customer Relationship Management (CRM), is set to introduce new features to its offering, including NFT Cloud and social media platform TikTok.
Salesforce NFT Cloud, a new non-fungible token marketplace, will allow users to create, manage and sell NFTs while being a code-free platform.
Also, in a pilot that started in July and had a September release, Commerce Cloud users will begin selling through TikTok by actively switching the site as a viable sales channel in Commerce Cloud’s social media channels that include Instagram and Snapchat. Users will also be introduced to features associated with the platform, including ad performance measurement and audience segmentation for ad retargeting.
“We make it much easier for sellers to engage with channels on all social channels like Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat [and create] relevant offers to their customers through automated feeds and curation,” said Scot Gillespie, executive vice president and general manager of Salesforce Commerce Cloud. “Payments, speed and flexibility continue to be critical for our customers.”
To support sustainability, Salesforce NFT Cloud will exclusively support transactions on more energy-efficient blockchains, this comes after a group letter signed by 400 Salesforce employees listed concerns about security, the unregulated nature of the concept and the potentially unsustainable byproduct of using mass amounts of energy on – currently – less sustainable blockchain platforms like Ethereum

“When a company proves that it is an ethical NFT broker that takes security and sustainability into account—and makes it a team effort in collaboration with marketing staff—it is possible to build success with an NFT program,” Hughes said.
Speaking of the new additions to the Salesforce structure, Matt Meyers, who has worked in the ecosystem for 15 years, runs the cyber security company Adaptus – the owner of EzProtect that extends the capabilities of Salesforce and other SaaS platforms – and has the highest certification of Certified Technical architect said: “I’ve worked my way up in Salesforce over the years to now have the distinction of being a Certified Technical Architect, which only 400 people in the world have. I’ve seen a lot.”
“With security and trust as Salesforce’s core values, they have always focused on ensuring customers’ information is secure. I think with the new additions that are being piloted, TikTok and NFT Cloud, that overall they can be positive and allow new flows of capacity. I think care needs to be taken with security, but that’s the one area where there could be vulnerabilities, and it’s important that Salesforce properly address this during the pilot.”
“Coming from a middle-class family that was not wealthy, it is very upsetting to see people lose large amounts of money on crypto and NFT. Sometimes being people’s retirement money or savings. The Federal Trade Commission indicated this recently with a detailed report, that cyber security in crypto is the most important and a sector I also work in.” He said.
Through his company, Meyers is also writing a short form Salesforce security book aimed at helping educate businesses on how to avoid leaking data on their public Salesforce sites and communities. He is also starting an Instagram channel to help those who are traveling to grow their careers.
Meyers added, “I had dedicated my life and career to Salesforce, and in the end it had paid off. I continued to work my way up until I finally reached a director level and managed all of Salesforce’s public sector program architects. It was at this point that I realized again that I wanted more. I decided I wanted to be more independent and run my own company.”
“So I left Salesforce and got a relationship with a big Salesforce consulting firm, and while I was working independently for them, I partnered with someone and started growing my own company.”
He continued: “I found myself meeting a lot of new and younger people who wanted to join the journey just as I had done years before. I saw their struggles so I decided to start helping them succeed and taught them as I wished I were taught.”
“Even though I was growing my company I still wanted to help others on their journey as well. So I realized the best way to do this was to look at social media as it’s the best way to connect with people.”
Meyers insisted that Salesforce will continue to introduce new — and perhaps terrifying — features as time goes on, but it’s key for the company to remain at the forefront of technology and user experience, or it could lose its spot as arguably the best-known SaaS platform in the world.
