British luxury car manufacturer Rolls-Royce Motor has partnered with world-renowned contemporary artist Sacha Jafri to launch six hand-painted cars alongside their NFTs. Titled “The Six Elements”, the collection features six unique Phantom Extended Series II cars. In addition, the paintings draw inspiration from Jafri’s acclaimed “Journey of Humanity” painting.
Here’s everything you need to know about the Rolls-Royce x Sacha Jafri NFTs:
Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Dubai and Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Abu Dhabi teamed up with Sacha Jafri to create “The Six Elements” Phantom. One-of-a-kind Rolls-Royce Phantom Series II motor cars feature a unique painted Sacha Jafri gallery. In addition, each painting draws inspiration from one of the five elements: Earth, water, fire, wind and air. Humanity, meanwhile, is the sixth element.
Furthermore, the Rolls-Royce x Sacha Jafri collaboration aims to raise 1 million dollars for charity. However, the team has yet to announce the charities they will be supporting. Still, Rolls-Royce noted that it will support humanity-centric organizations, focusing on education, health and sustainability.
“The six Rolls-Royce Phantoms will embody the emotions of each elemental force,” Jafri said. “The artistic journey begins and ends with emotion and intention, and provides inspiration to create the color palette of “Six Elements”. Earth, fire, wind, water and air are enhanced by adding a ‘new element’, humanity β the very essence of life itself.β
Alongside ‘The Six Elements’ Phantom launch, Rolls-Royce is also launching an NFT initiative. Titled “Rolls-Royce That Keeps on Giving”, the initiative includes six NFTs with flythrough animations. Each NFT is unique and is associated with each of the six phantoms. That said, owners are free to sell their NFTs separately.
Specifically, every time an NFT is sold, Rolls-Royce will donate 20% of the royalty to the chosen charity. True to the collection’s name, the idea is to help charities continue to profit from the NFTs.
Also, the automaker will put these NFTs in the glove compartment of every Phantom. This way the owners can see their NFTs while in their cars.
Sacha Jafri is a contemporary British artist whose massive paintings are known for highlighting humanitarian causes from around the world. In 2021, his painting, “Journey of Humanity”, was sold for over 58 million euros. In fact, it made history as the second most expensive painting auction by a living artist.
Spanning 1,595.76 square meters, Jafri auctioned the huge painting in 70 separate sections. Andre Abdoune, a Dubai-based Franco-Algerian businessman, bought all the pieces.
Now Sacha Jafri is collaborating with Rolls-Royce for the first initiative of its kind. “Through the collaboration between the Rolls-Royce dealer partners in the UAE and a contemporary artist beyond compare, art and craft have converged into a deeper, breathless expression of matter and meaning,” said CΓ©sar Habib. Habib is regional director for Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Middle East and Africa.
