Rollkit opens the door to rollups using Bitcoin’s data

Rollkit has taken to Twitter to announce that it now supports the supreme rollup of Bitcoin. This marks the first-ever research integration of Bitcoin for supreme rollups as a data availability layer. After the integration, developers will have more power to create rollups. The implementation of the integration module enables them to leverage Bitcoin for data availability.

A demo version is live of Rollkit at the moment. It can be tested on the Bitcoin testnet found in the local edition. The demo version comes loaded with Rollkit EVM superb roll up.

The early research integration becomes a reality courtesy of the Taproot upgrade of Bitcoin and the use of Bitcoin to publish arbitrary data by Ordinals.
