Rihanna Will Limited Edition NFT of her popular song BBHMM
Rihanna, famous pop and R&B singer, will soon launch her limited Non-Fungible Token (NFT) collection of her global hit song “B*tch Better Have My Money” (BBHMM). Rihanna’s platinum-certified songs will be streamed on the popular NFT platform Another blockwho will also share royalty income.
Music production company Deputy, also BBHMM’s co-producer, will release this song as an NFT, which in return will give a cut of their streaming royalties. On February 9th, these limited edition Rihanna NFTs will be released. There are a total of 300 NFTs in the collection.
Roughly calculated, each of these NFTs is priced at $210, or 0.145 ETH. With this new drop, the NFT holders are entitled to receive access to 0.0033% of streaming royalties for this song. This will give fans a much better experience by letting them own a piece of the song while streaming it. Deputy stated:
As a fan, you get a certain connection to an artist or a song. When you get an opportunity to own part of a song, it’s a game changer. It creates a whole other realm of being connected, outside of streaming or concerts.
Rihanna fans connect better with her fans
Deputy has decided to drop Rihanna’s hit single BBHMM as a digital collectible three days before the singer’s Super Bowl Halftime Show. This song was a top 10 single in eight countries when it was released in 2015. It is also one of the world’s most dubbed songs, as Pitchfork reported.
BBHMM is a track that has more than a billion streams on most platforms. It is also considered a classic track that remains highly played and, for some critics, “ahead of its time”, as it remains popular with listeners worldwide.
Deputy, a music production company, made this song explicitly inspired by synthesizing several trap music sounds from the past.
In 2015, on its year-end list of the 50 greatest songs, Rolling Stone ranked BBHMM at number 45. Rihanna, Bibi Bourelly, Deputy, Kanye West, Travis Scott and WondaGurl, who were the other producers, wrote the song. As mentioned, Rihanna is set to perform at the NFL’s Superbowl halftime show on February 12 at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.
