RAIGARH, India, 31 May 2023 /PRNewswire/ — The Raigarh District Administration has launched a sustainable Blockchain-based monitoring system for tracking industrial corporate social responsibility (CSR) plantation activities in the city. Raigarh as a district is home to several industries including steel, power and cement, among others. These industries have been actively engaged in CSR activities, including plantations, to contribute to the local community and the environment. However, ensuring that industries comply with their obligations and monitoring the progress of plantation activities is a daunting task for the district administrations. The administration also faces a significant challenge in verifying the accuracy of the reports shared by industries outlining their tree plantations and CSR initiatives that require serious capital and manpower.

In addition, the platform has a smooth user interface designed for listed industries to easily feed information into the system and tracks the real-time Air Quality Index (AQI) that is available to all visitors to depict the direct impact of these afforestation efforts for public and stakeholder consumption.

The unique project has two phases of implementation, with the first phase including induction of industries, verification of data related to their tree plantation activities, generation of a unique Tree Aadhaar for each tree and monitoring of its maintenance. Along with that, the system will further monitor the carbon footprint or lack thereof, to provide opportunities for the district administration to utilize carbon credits.
