NBA legend Scottie Pippen’s NFT sold out in 77 seconds
Six-time NBA champion Scottie Pippen’s NFT collection ‘Scottie Pippen SP33’, launched in partnership with NFT and Web3 experience company Orange Comet, sold out in record time of 77 seconds.
The NBA Hall of Famer Scottie Pippen SP33 NFT Collection consists of 1,000 NFTs, which are “unique metawear sneakers” and are digital wearables of the future.
The NFT coin went live on December 20th. The mint price for the NFTs was 0.20 ETH and currently the floor price of Pippen NFT is 0.324 ETH on OpenSea with 256 ETH trading volume.
Meanwhile, 33 NFT holders will randomly receive “a QR code with $100 off lifestyle brand sneakers,” while another 33 randomly selected buyers will receive “physical Pippen autographed sneakers.”
Pippen will invite two NFT holders to play a special round of golf with him. One lucky buyer will be treated to a VIP dinner and tour of Scottie Pippen’s hometown.
These NFT sneakers will be compatible with the metaverse and games, allowing them to be used in various virtual environments.
Each buyer received their NFT, “Orange Comet’s 3D animations” and a “mystery box”. The latter will unlock in 2023 and contain digital art.
Scottie Pippen stated, “I’ve been a sneakerhead for as long as I can remember, so it was an easy decision to create an NFT collection that combines my passion for shoes with my love for the game.”
“I started researching on Twitter where the Web3 community and my fans helped me learn more. “From what I saw, I knew there was an opportunity to do something different that would allow me to connect with my fans in a new way,” Pippen added.
Pippen noted, “We did it. We sold out today in about a minute. I just want to say that I’m so humbled and grateful for the turnout. Thank you to Orange Comet, OpenSea and everyone who has helped me on this journey of learning and be a part of the NFT space. I’m sorry for those of you who weren’t able to get one of the thousand pieces, but we have more on the way.”
In October, Sir Anthony Hopkins got his Eternal NFT collection, in collaboration with Orange Comet, sold in less than 7 minutes. A total of 1,000 NFTs were available, along with more tools and a once-in-a-lifetime chance for ten lucky collectors to acquire Signature Animation NFTs.
Orange Comet CEO and co-founder Dave Broome stated: “After a fantastic year for Orange Comet, selling out this iconic NFT collection and breaking our previous record with Sir Anthony Hopkins’ drop is an incredible way to end 2022.”
All Scottie Pippen NFT owners will receive whitelist access to future “corrupted” physical and digital wearables by Orange Comet, scheduled to launch in 2023.
