Moondog’s NFT seals partnership with ShadowSwap DEX to bring NFT trading to the core

Aptos has had an exciting 2 months since the launch of the mainnet. Here are 5 facts about the new blockchain, including performance, peak holders and NFTs.

Five Aptos facts since launch

Launched nearly two months ago, the much-hyped Aptos blockchain received praise from supporters and criticism from skeptics.

Aptos is the first blockchain based on Facebook’s Move programming language and defunct stablecoin project Diem.

Here we give you five facts about the performance of Aptos since its launch, taken from the TraceMove blockchain explorer by NodeReal.

1. $APT is down 65% since launch

On October 19, Aptos’ native coin, $APT, first traded at $13.73. Currently the value of $APT is $4.83. That is a decrease of 65%.

However, according to CoinMarketCap, $APT is up 34% from its all-time low reached on November 9. Due to coin emissions, the current market cap of $APT ($628 million) is “only” down 37% since launch .

2. Aptos approaches 50 million transactions at 8 TPS

Since the launch of the mainnet, the Aptos chain has processed 46.7 million transactions, with daily transactions of just over 600,000 in the last two weeks.

According to TraceMove, Aptos has averaged 7.7 transactions per second (TPS), which is far below the promised maximum speed of 160,000 TPS. However, since launch, Aptos developers have countered TPS criticism by saying that the actual TPS is so much lower than the maximum TPS because there is not enough activity on the network yet to test the chain’s limits.

3. Binance holds 16M $APT

Centralized exchange Binance is one of the largest holders of Aptos coins, with $16.4 million APT in a wallet that TraceMove calls “Binance.”

That’s almost 13% of the total $APT in circulation.

In comparison, a wallet attributed to the “OKX” exchange contains $2.1 million APT, less than 2% of the circulating supply.

4. There are 2.6 million holders of $APT

More than 2.6 million addresses currently hold Aptos coins. Most of the other popular tokens on Aptos are either stablecoins or packaged native coins from other blockchains, such as Ethereum and Solana.

However, Aptos-specific tokens such as $MOJO and $APTOGE are also among the top tokens, according to the number of holders, as well as liquid versions of $APT by staking platforms such as Tortuga and Ditto.

5. Top Aptos NFTs include Monkeys, Bears, Punks

Aptos has seen a lot of Non-Fungible Token (NFT) activity, with TraceMove showing hundreds of NFT collections with a significant number of transactions.

The best NFT collections on TraceMove’s list are Aptos Monkeys, Bruh Bears, AptoPunks, Aptos Undead, Aptos Toad Overload, Aptos Land Genesis, Aptos Dragons, VORP Pass, Aptomingos and Aptos Rats.
