Mitchell Sandler adds Arizona’s former top insurance and financial services regulator
Mitchell Sandler today announced that Evan Daniels, one of the nation’s leading financial services and insurance regulators, has joined the firm as counsel. Daniels joins Mitchell Sandler after leading the Arizona Department of Insurance & Financial Institutions, culminating nearly a decade of public service in Arizona.

As director of the Arizona Department of Insurance & Financial Institutions, Daniels led Arizona’s regulatory agency that licenses and oversees banks, credit unions, mortgage lenders and all lines of insurance. Prior to his appointment, Daniels served in the Arizona Attorney General’s Office, where he led teams that investigated, sought and advised on issues related to consumer protection, fair treatment, privacy, government relations and public funds. Most notably, he was responsible for establishing and managing the Arizona Fintech Sandbox, a first-in-the-nation program designed to provide regulatory flexibility for fintech in Arizona.
