Multidisciplinary artist Mika Tajima releases debut standalone Web3 project as part of collaboration between Pace Verso and PROOF
Pace Verso, the web3 hub of Pace Gallery, is pleased to announce its first ever solo NFT project in collaboration with PROOF, a leading NFT art collecting community. The project is by multidisciplinary artist Mika Tajima and is entitled Archive of Feelings (January 1, 2023, USA). This new NFT project brings Tajima’s Human Synth series into the web3 world.
The Human Synth series consists of large-scale installations that use a custom sentiment analysis algorithm to process text-based social media data and predict collective sentiment. Archive of Feelings (January 1, 2023, USA) takes the sentiment analysis algorithm used in Tajima’s video animation installations and encapsulates the fluctuating mood in the United States throughout the day of January 1, 2023, as animated digital smoke in shape, color and density. Each of the 1,152 unique NFTs visualizes average emotional data as portraits of the first day of the new year, spread over 12 US regions, encompassing the mood of the entire country. The project will be launched in spring 2023.
As part of the project, PROOF will make a donation to a soon-to-be-announced institution to realize the next Human Synth, entitled Human Synth (USA), which will manifest a vivid portrait of the country during the presidential election season and will be produced in the fall of 2024.
“Pace Verso is dedicated to supporting innovative, boundary-pushing web3 projects by Pace Gallery artists as well as leading artists emerging from the web3 space. PROOF has continually shown the same dedication to artists, sharing their work with the PROOF community and beyond, making them a natural fit for collaboration.” – Ariel Hudes, head of Pace Verso
Holders of Archive of Feelings NFTs will have access to exclusive in-person events with Pace Gallery and private tours hosted by PROOF and Pace Verso. Collectors will also gain access to PROOF’s token-gated Discord server, a collector profile on PROOF.XYZ, and access to future PROOF approval lists. Collectors will be able to purchase Archive of Feelings artwork on the PROOF.XYZ platform.
A launch event for the project will be held in March at the Pace Gallery in Los Angeles, and holders of Archive of Feelings NFTs will be eligible for invitations to the event.
“At PROOF we are excited about the future growth and opportunities for artists and creators in the space. Our partnership with Pace Verso marks a new chapter of ongoing collaboration and innovation, working with traditional art galleries, institutions and artists, supporting their visions and providing a platform to reach new audiences who share our values.” – Eli Scheinman, head of art at PROOF
Launched in 2021, Pace Verso works closely with artists inside and outside the gallery’s program to incubate, develop and realize their web3 projects, and operate an NFT platform on the Ethereum blockchain. PROOF is a leading NFT community behind PROOF Collective, Moonbirds, Oddities and Grails, which aims to connect artists, creatives and collectors while building cutting-edge technology to encourage and maximize collaboration across the Web3 ecosystem.
