MICROFINANCE EVENT: Africa Fintech Summit; 2-4 November 2022; Cape Town, South Africa
The eighth edition of this event offers participants 21 sessions presented by stakeholders representing fintech [financial technology] companies and investors overseeing a total capital of US$4.5 billion. The detailed program of events has not yet been published, but it will be included discussions, demos, a dinner on 2 November and site visit on 4 November as well as AlphaExpo, a micro-accelerator for start-ups to “meet with, learn from and pitch to diverse stakeholders across the continental fintech ecosystem”.
Background on organizers: Dedalus Global, headquartered in the US state of Virginia, is “an investment, communications and strategy consulting firm focused on developing markets. The organization has networks in Africa, the Middle East, Central Asia and Southeast Asia that address four main areas: (1) fintech; (2) agricultural technology (agritech); (3) renewable energy; and (4) blockchain.
Founded in 2002, Ibex Frontier is an investment advisory company with offices in Ethiopia, UK and USA.
Cost: The participation fee is USD 250 for in-person attendance or USD 100 for the virtual portion of the event. Additional fees apply for the dinner and site visits.
