Mastering the Blockchain Industry with the Web3 Foundation and DEC Institute’s collaborative course at edX – CryptoMode
The Web3 Foundation and the Digital Economy Consortium (DEC) Institute recently teamed up with edX, a leading online learning platform, to empower professionals worldwide to embark on or enhance careers in the blockchain sector. As part of the Web3 Foundation’s ongoing commitment to Web3 education, the Foundation has partnered with DEC to develop course content on edX.
Accordingly, two professional certificate programs will be introduced on edX.org, enabling learners to pursue a Chartered Blockchain Analyst (CBA®) or Chartered Digital Asset Analyst (CDAA®) post-graduate certificate.
Develop essential skills for the digital economy
The DEC Professional Certificate programs at edX are designed to cultivate and reinforce critical professional skills necessary for success in today’s most in-demand fields. The curriculum has been developed through DEC’s partnership with many top-tier blockchain education providers and industry associates.
Bill Laboon, Head of Education and Grants at the Web3 Foundation, noted that this achievement “marks the formalization and professionalization of blockchain and Web3 education, as leading universities and industry players, including the Web3 Foundation, collaborate to establish a rigorous international standard.”
He further emphasized the importance of education in promoting a decentralized, fair Internet through Web3, arguing that “expanding access to high-quality education empowers future builders and developers to shape Web3, creating confidence among learners and employers about the skills of graduates.”
To meet the demand for Blockchain Professionals
These Web3 programs are vital to the job market, as they provide professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in the rapidly growing blockchain and decentralized technology sectors.
As more industries adopt Web3 technologies to enhance security, transparency and efficiency, the demand for skilled professionals in this area continues to increase. By offering Web3 programs, educational institutions play a critical role in closing the skills gap, fostering innovation, and empowering individuals to take advantage of career opportunities in this booming field.
Extensive course offerings to kick-start your blockchain journey
DEC’s first preparatory courses, Chartered Blockchain Analyst – CBA®️ Level 1 and Chartered Digital Asset Analyst – CDAA®️ Level 1, are currently available on edX.org. The Level 2 Professional Certificate programs are slated to begin in the summer of 2023. These additions complement edX’s extensive catalog of over 4,000 online learning experiences, created in collaboration with the world’s leading universities and companies.
The courses will feature expert instruction from top institutions such as Frankfurt School Blockchain Center, Lucerne University of Applied Sciences & Arts, University College London, Center for Blockchain Technologies, Politecnico di Milano, School of Management and University of British Columbia.
Andrew Hermalyn, president of partnerships at 2U, edX’s parent company, highlighted the growing demand for Web3 skills, saying, “Eager to tap into the potential of Web3, our students are increasingly seeking to gain the skills that define the modern technology landscape. He added, “As one of the world’s leading blockchain knowledge resources, DEC is the perfect partner to help edX students prepare for a dynamic career in a rapidly evolving field.”
