Line reveals five ‘Gamer First’ NFT games to be released in 2023

Line Next, an NFT-centric US-based subsidiary of the company behind popular Asian social app Line, revealed the first five games it plans to release on its Web3 gaming platform Game Dosi in the second half of 2023.

The new Web3 games include Sweet Monster Guardians, Vestria the Last Order (VLO), KEROZ, Drawship Kingdom Reverse and Project GD, the last of which is an in-house developed IP that will apparently span multiple games over time.

Each title has unique game mechanics, according to the company. The first Game Dosi title to offer NFT pre-sales, Sweet Monster Guardians is a browser-based strategic defense game from developer Movisoft built around the strategic placement of unique characters.

Players can immerse themselves in the collective role-playing adventure of VLO and embark on missions together. The PC and Mac game has a Final Fantasy style and is developed by SIS Studio.

Those more inclined towards dungeon-crawling “roguelike” games may instead choose to turn to KEROZ, a mobile and PC action-adventure experience created by Superflex. Drawship Kingdom Reverse gives players an opportunity to reap NFT rewards via avatars, machines and dolls. The browser-based game comes from Nolatency Limited.

Few details have been released about Project GD, but the Game Dosi website notes that the fantasy IP will be a competitive trading card game (TCG) with NFT-based decks.

Prizes and giveaways

Game Dosi’s official launch is scheduled for May 18. In its debut, the company said it will offer a membership sale with gold and platinum-tier NFT passes that offer benefits such as early access to the new games.

Under the credo of “Gamer First, Web3 Next”, Game Dosi will provide NFT rewards from the upcoming Project GD game. Players can earn the rewards by completing missions that can be found on the company’s community website, with a deadline of May 31.

Another chance to win NFT prizes will take the form of a raffle, with participation based on the number of Discord registrations for Game Dosi, the company said. Game Dosi also said that a secondary series of more titles will be released “with globally popular content in the second half of this year.”

Game Dosi is built on the Finschia blockchain, a network formerly known as Line Blockchain and before that Link Chain. LINK is the original cryptocurrency of Finschia.

This is not the first attempt at NFTs for the Line brand. IPX, the parent company of the popular Line Friends characters, recently revealed a collaborative partnership with Chiru Labs, the company behind the Ethereum-based NFT project, Azuki. The brands will explore potential content and merchandise opportunities together that feature their respective IP.
