léo caillard duplicates his existing distorted classical marble sculptures as NFT falls
Replicating léo caillard’s classic marble sculptures
Leo Caillard distorts marble sculptures like an old tube TV flickering to death as it scrambles for nearby signals. He already has dressed up classic characters in hippie clothes, and now the French artist returns with his distorted sculptures. This time he reproduces their digital twins and uploads their copies as NFTs. Blending past and present comes to the fore as viewers are treated to scenic landscapes behind Caillard’s sprawling and elongated marble sculptures.
The recent NFT drop by Caillard presents a selection of three of his real works, placed in natural environments as remnants from another spacetime. NFT cults who prefer to own digitized versions of Caillard’s marble works, which exist in real life, have the chance to bid and keep their copies, saving the juxtaposition between ancient style and the use of modern technology in modern creative media. Together with the NFTs, Caillard is culminating his mixed media sculptures and works into a book.

Léo Caillard sculpts individual marble works
Leo Caillard playing with the concepts of time. He brings back memories of bygone glory and turns them into tangible, and now digital, marble works with modern relevance. He thinks of an urge that draws viewers to look back and reflect on the past, that without the stories that took place then, the present would not have developed as it is today.
Caillard is a pioneer in digital art and NFT, and belongs to a new generation of artists who build bridges between reality and virtuality. For Quantum, the mixed-media artist oscillates between ancient past and futurism in form, the waves disrupting the figurative and physical forms of his oeuvre. He tries to reverse the original vibration of quantum matter, always pinning what happens between reality and virtuality.
This series of sculptures is one of the artist’s most famous works. His sculptures stand without a replica as Caillard only makes them once, deviating from having commercialized copies. For the first time, his works are associated with their digital twins through NFT, and the Monde Singulier marketplace is hosting the live release of Caillard’s NFTs on its website.
