Jed McCaleb’s Tacostand ‘XRP Wallet is Almost Empty, After Ripple co-founder transferred 9 billion XRP over the years – Altcoins Bitcoin News

Last month, it was reported that Ripple co – founder Jed McCaleb was close to emptying his xrp wallet, which contained 81 million tokens worth $ 26 million. Following a transaction in which 3,898,451 xrp was transferred from the address, McCaleb’s wallet is now close to empty, with only $ 47,61212xrp worth $ 17 stored in his wallet today.

Onchain data shows that the xrp (XRP) wallet called “Tacostand” is now close to empty as the owner, Jed McCaleb, has apparently transferred all of his storage out of his wallet. McCaleb is well known in the crypto industry for co-founding Ripple, and in 2014 he left the company to start the Stellar project in 2014.

However, it was well known that after McCaleb left, he had approximately XRP 9 billion, and he was allowed to sell or transfer the funds under specific withdrawal conditions.

Jed McCaleb is estimated to be one of the richest cryptocurrency influencers in space, and in 2018, McCaleb was the 40th richest person in the world, according to that year’s Forbes billionaire list.

As McCaleb approached the end of XRP retention at the end of June with 81 million left in his wallet, twitret about being “almost there” with a taco emoji and a picture of a restaurant called “Taco Stand”. At the time, the 81 million XRP tokens were worth $ 26 million. After the Ripple co – founder’s tweet on June 29, the wallet saw a number of major XRP transfers.

That day, McCaleb moved $ 7,335,966 XRP worth $ 2.69 million out of his wallet, and the next day, McCaleb took another $ 7,335,966 XRP. The last transaction recorded was July 18, 2022, when 3,898,451 XRPs worth $ 1.42 million were removed from the infamous Tacostand wallet.

XRP has traded for prices between $ 0.343 to $ 0.367 per token on July 18, and it is the seventh largest crypto market value today. While the XRP is up 14.1% over the last month, so far this year shows that the XRP is down 37.1% against the US dollar. Statistics show that there is a circulating XRP supply of around 48,343,101,197, which means that McCaleb’s stash of 9 billion tokens represented 18.61% of the XRP’s circulating supply.
