Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey Co. looking to get into NFTs

Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey Co., the world’s best-selling whiskey brand, recently filed an NFT and metaverse trademark application. Although many brands have started to enter NFT place, it’s quite surprising that Jack Daniel’s – one of the oldest whiskey brands in the US – isn’t shying away from joining the NFT space.

Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey Co. now moving to the NFT room. So, is the brand likely to see more success with the move?

What are Jack Daniel’s NFT Plans?

Although the brand has not announced its move into the NFT world yet, a reliable source confirmed the news. On September 19, Mike Kondoudis, an intellectual property trademark attorney, shared in a Twitter post that Jack Daniel’s applied for three metaverse and NFT trademarks.

Furthermore, Mike confirmed that Jack Daniel’s filed the trademark through the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) on September 13.

According to Mike, Jack Daniel’s is looking to sell a new line of products, such as:

  • NFT-authenticated media, including artwork, text, audio and videos related to the beverages
  • Downloadable virtual goods, including virtual beverages, bar items and clothing
  • Digital wallets and collectibles

The reason behind Jack Daniel’s move into the NFT world

Many Tennessee Whiskey lovers may be curious about the future of Jack Daniels as the new incident unfolds. Apparently, the brand may have crossed over to the NFT world for many reasons. Mainly the focus is on brand promotion and strengthening one’s name in the NFT area early on.

Alcoholic drinks in the NFT scene

While Jack Daniel’s Tennessee whiskey has a reputation that precedes it, it’s certainly not the first spirits brand to enter the NFT space. For example, Block Bar is one of the biggest names in the spirits space web3. In fact, they often collaborate with brands as premium as Jack Daniels itself. Some of the earlier releases include Patron NFTs and Johnnie Walker NFTs as well.

Furthermore, Daniel’s competitor Ardbeg launched NFT for their Fon Fhoid Whiskey in April this year. And of course other brands in the beverage industry are also making the transition. These include Red Bull, Crown Royal and McDonald’s, among many others.
