The finalists for FinTech Australia’s seventh annual business awards, known as The Finnies, have been announced.
This year’s awards received over 300 entries from over 250 fintechs across 19 categories, with judges shortlisting 156 finalists.
FinTech Australia general manager Rehan D’Almeida said they are announcing the finalists a little later than usual due to the discussion between the judges.
– There have been some tough decisions. As a result, any company or individual that makes this shortlist should be incredibly proud of their achievements, he said.
“Hosting this year’s Finnies event would not have been possible without the help of our event sponsors, Patona and Global Processing Services. We would also like to thank our other award sponsors.
“It has been a challenging period for many companies in both the fintech and startup sectors. Finland is a good reminder that our industry struggles under pressure and can achieve despite adversity. We look forward to seeing everyone on the night.”
The winners will be announced at a gala event at the Forum Theater in Melbourne on 31 May. Tickets will be available from The Finnies website shortly.
Last year’s awards had a new Hall of Fame induction announced, as well as the People’s Choice award for Fintech Organization of the Year and New Fintech Organization of the Year.
