Future Blockchain Summit will address UAE’s vision for Web 3 economy
[Dubai – UAE] – The MENA region’s first and largest blockchain conference and exhibition will return to the Dubai World Trade Center (DWTC) from 10 to 13 October 2022.
The fifth edition of the Future Blockchain Summit will serve as a meeting point for the world’s most disruptive business technology trends.
The UAE is poised to become a global hub for cryptocurrency as its market capitalization reaches $1.4 trillion, up 86% year-to-date, with the Middle East’s blockchain market expected to be worth $3.2 billion by 2023.
Following the launch of “Dubai Metaverse” – a project led by Dubai’s Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed to place the city among the top 10 metaverse economies globally and first in the region; the emirate’s vision to transform into a global capital of advanced technology, primarily artificial intelligence (AI) and Web3 is on the way.
The Metaverse sector will support as many as 40,000 additional virtual jobs and generate up to $4 billion for Dubai’s GDP by 2030.
From 2022, the “Dubai Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority” (VARA), which is affiliated to the Dubai World Trade Center, has been set up as the competent entity in the emirate responsible for regulating, monitoring and supervising Virtual Asset services; and will have legal personality, economic and administrative autonomy and the legal capacity required to undertake all actions and dispositions that ensure the achievement of its objectives.
In line with Dubai’s vision to be a global Web3 hub, leadership and regulatory framework for digital assets, the premier event showcasing blockchain innovations and global case studies will provide industry players with the opportunity to tap into myriad networking opportunities, an expert conference program and transformation. workshops to explore different themes, incl Blockchain for Enterprise, The Future of Digital Assets and Into the Metaverse.
Channeling global dialogues and thought leadership, the summit on Digital Assets Regulation will focus on defining the risks and the path to building a legal framework to establish competitive crypto hubs on the global stage.
A session on NFTs, Gaming and Investing in the Metaverse will have dialogue about taking gaming to the next frontier for virtual worlds with GameFi and Play to Earn (P2E).
Winning code supremacy in the battle for blockchain adoption will focus on gaining adoption and setting infrastructure priorities between scalability, security and decentralization.
Statistics from a survey by the Dubai World Trade Center revealed that 71.3 percent of summit attendees intend to invest in blockchain technology in the next 12 months.
The Future Blockchain Summit will be co-located with seven other specialized events taking place alongside GITEX Global 2022.
