Forbes Blockchain 50: Call for 2023 Nominations
For four years, the Forbes Blockchain 50 list has chronicled the institutional adoption of technology popularized by bitcoin. Since the first summary in 2019, the companies on our list have – often well-known names such as Walmart
Now is your chance to help us find the best possible honorees for next year’s edition. This isn’t about the sexiest new but unproven startups, it’s about companies with a track record of trust. We look for businesses valued at $1 billion or more or those that generate at least $1 billion in annual revenue and have made meaningful use of technology.
Over time, we’ve also expanded the list’s industrial and geographic reach, shifting our focus away from proof-of-concept studies to production-stage applications of formidable scale and impact. While clever experiments were once sufficient for inclusion, this list will focus on where the rubber meets the road.
For example, current member AP Møller-Maersk, the world’s second largest container shipper, counts 250 ports and 20 ocean vessels using its proprietary TradeLens blockchain, which cuts time and amounts of paperwork by tracking individual containers as they move through global ports. Diamond producer DeBeers has registered nearly half a million stones, worth a combined $2 billion or so, on its Tracr blockchain.
Last year we also saw a significant increase among our lists in the use of public networks such as Bitcoin
Do you know a company whose blockchain efforts are underrated? Has your business been overlooked in the past or dropped off the list, but is breaking new ground? Let us know by filling out this form before 4 Nov and join the conversation by using #Blockchain50 on Twitter. Do not submit multiple entries for the same company – the number of nominations has no significance for our selection. If you cannot access the form, please email [email protected].
Compiling the list is a months-long process in which a dozen reporters and editors evaluate hundreds of companies, and we strive to improve it every year. If you are an employee completing the questionnaire on behalf of your company, please provide detailed answers. We want to recognize companies that are worthy of public trust.
The finalists will be revealed in February 2023. We look forward to reading your submissions.
