Elon Musk based NFT collection launched as Web3 movement
Social trading platform Basic.Space revealed its role in the launch of the Elon Musk-inspired non-fungible token (NFT) collection Elon.Space. Created as a cultural experiment powered by Basic.Space and Web3, the NFT collection is a “thoughtful” integration of new technology and fashion that bridges the real world with the digital.
Basic.Space’s collections have been featured in Forbes, Vogue, Highsnobiety and other major media platforms for its innovative concepts and designs. The social commerce platform seeks to push the boundaries of fashion with digital assets and Web3 by providing users with a unique experience.
Their Elon Musk-based Elon.Space collection is a “commentary on the future of web3,” according to a press release shared with Bitcoinist, inspired by Musk’s appreciation for memes and cryptocurrency.
In particular, Musk publicly revealed that he is a fan of the Dogecoin (DOGE) cryptocurrency. The billionaire and entrepreneur made this revelation in 2021, which led to a massive increase in the price of DOGE. The cryptocurrency is coming back from the ashes. Now it occupies the 10th place in the ranking of cryptocurrencies with the highest market value.
Also, Elon Musk gave birth to an entire cultural movement supported by “Meme Coins”, which shows that some of the most critical conversations about society happen at the intersection of technology and culture. Elon.Space is a representation of that movement.
The founder and CEO of Tesla had the following to say about the reason for his support for Dogecoin:
The point was that Dogecoin was invented as a joke, essentially to make fun of cryptocurrency, and that’s why… I think there’s an argument that the most entertaining outcome is more like “what would be the most ironic outcome? “
