Ducati has partnered with NFT Pro to sell NFTs on Ripple
Ducati has entered into a partnership with NFT Pro, which will see it go into Web 3.0.
Web 3.0 is essentially the part of the Internet where cryptocurrencies and NFTs “live”. It is the place where you can spend money on nothing.
Ducati’s partner in this Web 3.0 initiative, NFT Pro, is a “white-label NFT solution for businesses, helping brands add strategies, create and sell NFTs to customers, fans and collectors,” according to a press release from Ducati.
Given the current state of crypto, and NFTs in particular, based on that description, NFT Pro’s advice to Ducati for its NFT strategy should perhaps have been “do not bother.” That was clearly not their advice.
Instead, Ducati says “Upcoming Ducati projects will be distributed using Ripple, the leading blockchain partner that provides technical support on the ultra-fast, affordable and carbon-neutral XRP Ledger (XRPL) blockchain.”
Ripple is currently in the middle of a lawsuit with the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) in the US that was filed when the SEC accused Ripple of “raising more than $ 1.3 billion through an unregistered, ongoing securities offer for digital assets,” according to Proactive Investors.
FX Street says the SEC “is likely to prosecute the defendant until a favorable outcome for the commission is achieved.”
In any case, Ducati says that the partnership with NFT Pro «confirms the importance of the digital world for the experiences it offers its fans.
“Over the next few months, a series of WEB 3.0 activities will be developed through the creation of new digital aggregation spaces, NFT collections and opportunities to participate in the new activities typical of the Web 3.0 universe, which are already relevant in the cryptocurrency environment. “
Ducati says it has “been a pioneer in embracing new technologies to engage, entertain and nurture the passion of the large community of fans around the world,” thanks to its past digital efforts. Ducati includes in this that it sold the first motorcycle online on January 1, 2000, and created a blog where Ducati fans could exchange views with the management, or chat with the manufacturer’s drivers. In addition, Ducati has a presence on social media, and an official app to which the production bikes can be connected.
However, there is a small – or big – difference between, for example, selling a motorcycle online, or having a bike connected to an app; and NFTs. When you buy a motorcycle online, the bike you receive has value in physical reality.
