Devil Dog’s new NFT release supports service members with a crypto investment to feel good about
A top tech CEO and former Desert Storm vet envisions NFTs with a new set of tokens that make a solid investment in the well-being of US service members past and present.
SAN FRANCISCO, 26 August 2022 /CNW/ – Could the high-energy excitement of the crypto-token investment space be a force for good? That’s the idea driving the development of the new Devil Dogs NFT series – a crypto token project created to support US service members.
The first project of its kind aims to leverage Web3 technology to achieve both real and virtual benefits, with the ability to purchase unique and tradable “everyday hero” tokens. Proceeds will go to essential veteran services.
In its first release, Devil Dogs (DVL.DGS) is offering 1,775 unique and inspirational bulldog tokens, commemorating service in the US Marine Corps, with a mint date planned for the fall.
The DVL.DGS NFT initiative is led by Dave Grannan, a Silicon Valley technology executive and Gulf War veteran. “Our Devil Dogs NFT project sits at the intersection of two issues I care deeply about,” says Grannan. “As a Gulf War veteran, I know firsthand how our veteran healthcare system falls short. And as a technical leader, I’m very bullish on the future of crypto, blockchain, and mostly Web3.”
As the project grows, DVL.DGS plans to donate over 90% of the proceeds to important veterans’ organizations. In particular, the project aims to amplify the impact of organizations that focus on core veteran issues, including access to healthcare, suicide prevention and homelessness. The Devil Dogs also plan to support education and financial literacy programs that help veterans better integrate into civilian life.
The campaign’s current beneficiaries include The Marines’ Memorial Association and Foundation, The 38 challenge, Irreverent warriors and San Diego Veterans Coalition.
The DVL.DGS campaign has two ways to give: investors can purchase an NFT to support wellness initiatives and/or donate an NFT directly to an active duty service member. Grannan and his team are targeting the fall for a first official minting. But donation NFTs can be purchased right now on the project’s website, devildogs.io.
Grannan believes the project will speak to many people who understand the challenges veterans face, as well as both crypto-curious and seasoned investors who are ready for more purpose-driven NFT holdings. “If you’re crypto-curious, this project could be your safe entry into the crypto world,” says Grannan. “And if you’re a crypto-native, I ask, ‘Don’t you want a warrior in your collection that’s truly ready for the metaverse?’
