CSDN, BSV Academy launches Preliminary Qualification for Blockchain Engineers Certificate
The Chinese Software Developer Network (CSDN) and Keyi Tech have launched the Certificate for Preliminary Qualification of Blockchain Engineers. The certificate will be awarded to those who take the course Introduction to Bitcoin Theory and pass the subsequent exams.
Introduction to Bitcoin Theory debuted in June as the first regular course in the BSV Blockchain Engineer Qualification Program. The program is a joint initiative between CSDN, a Chinese developer community with over 31 million registered members, and Keyi Tech, a corporate consulting company.
The course is free and open to the public, and requires less than ten hours of dedicated online learning to complete. When a student has completed the course, they are allowed to take an exam, and if they pass, they receive the certificate from the CSDN Capabilities Certification Center in collaboration with BSV Academy.
Today, the blockchain industry is facing a shortage of trained professionals as the demand for technology continues to increase globally. Despite reports showing that blockchain jobs increased sixfold in 2021, data show that skilled blockchain developers have not matched growth. Several global companies are still facing a shortage of talent, and many must become aggressive with their recruitment, such as poaching from rivals or offering very high salaries.
The BSV Blockchain Engineer Qualification Program was created to meet this challenge. It mixes a combination of study, training and certification modules that try to bring out blockchain professionals to meet the demand.
Taku Chen, COI of Keyi Tech and Chief Operating Officer of the BSV Blockchain Engineer Qualification Program, told CoinGeek: “The blockchain empire is now facing a severe talent shortage. To specifically address this pain, we launched this program with our strategic partner CSDN. This program “is dedicated to defining new criteria for blockchain professionals and expanding the range of talent in China. We plan to introduce new modules such as scholarships or MOOCs in the near future to improve the talent development path.”
The program has a free online study platform that consists of six preliminary and nine regular courses. They cover the basics, such as blockchain and Bitcoin theory, and extend all the way to practical development skills. Once students have completed their studies, they will have to sit for a final exam to obtain the certificate, which will greatly advance their careers. Each certificate can be verified on the CSDN website and comes with its own unique and exclusive ID number.
“We have launched two blockchain courses and a certification option thanks to CSDN’s years of work and joint efforts by the two parties,” commented Lise Li, CEO of Keyi Tech.
“BSV Hub China’s collaboration with CSDN is an important step in our efforts to continuously increase open source technology. I fully expect to see more people expand their horizons and embrace new career opportunities through our education platform and certification program, ”added Li, who is also the head of BSV Hub China.
