crypto should meet users where their needs are
- Scott Melker says crypto won’t achieve mainstream adoption by trying to explain dank sharding and SHA-256, trashing other coins.
- The Wolf Of All Streets believes mainstream adoption is being affected by the approach being taken by the crypto community.
- Crypto leaders belittling each other and trashing rival projects isn’t helping, he tweeted recently.
Scott Melker, a crypto investor and trader and author of the crypto publication The Wolf Den’s newslettersays the crypto community won’t push for mainstream adoption properly.
Crypto should try to meet the user where their needs are
According to Melker, also known as “The Wolf Of All Streets” on Twitter, what crypto needs to do is cut out unnecessary terminology when sending the crypto message out to the masses. He means to meet the regular user there “their wants and needs exist” can go a long way in promoting general adoption.
“Mainstream adoption does not come with attempts to explain dank sharding and sha-256“, he recently tweeted, noting that taking this route affects the desired goal.”There’s a reason people ignore us“, he added.
Jeff Garzik, one of the early Bitcoin believers, agreed with Melker’s assessment.
It’s all “plumbing”.
Crypto wins when average people can use our technology without having to know or understand esoteric concepts like sharding or hashing.
Plumbing is not exciting or cool for most people. It’s something that just works quietly.

Crypto leaders must do better, opined The Wolf Of All Streets.
“One of the biggest problems the crypto community has is that the leaders often talk down to the mainstream audience or speak in terminology that is above the average person’s head. We must simplify the message for the masses and meet them where their wants and needs are found.”
On what else the community needs to work on as it looks to help the next wave of adoption across everyday users, Melker believes throwing out other projects isn’t one of the options.
“Imagine having the ability to go on the mainstream media and extol the virtues of bitcoin, but instead ruminate on your hatred for Ethereum or shitcoins instead“, he observed.
His message has been echoed by many on Crypto Twitter. One like that comment was from Jahon Jamali, CEO of the American Crypto Academy, who means to explain “the value proposition more than the technologywill definitely ring a bell with many people.
I have said this from day one.
– Avoid technologically intimate language;
– Explain the value proposition more than the technology;
– Scratch the condescension.This is a belief system in its entirety.
Preach in the vernacular to the flock you are trying to convert.
