New Delhi: Crypto tokens continued to move higher on Friday. Bitcoin moved towards the key $20,000 level but could not touch it again.
Ethereum’s Merge, which will shift the protocol from proof-of-work to a more energy-efficient proof-of-stake protocol, is about a week away.
All the top tokens, even stablecoins, traded with strong gains on Friday. Solana increased by around 7 percent, while Polkadot and Avalanche gained 5 percent each.
The global cryptocurrency market cap traded decently higher at $994.1 billion, rising nearly 2 percent in the past 24 hours. However, total trading volume fell by more than 5 percent near $73.39 billion.
