COREisla NFT announces pre-sale on Miida’s Core Marketplace

Core Floki team member B provides status updates and provides some alpha to the Viking community on the high-flying MemeFi project.

Monthly AMA from Core Floki team member

It’s no secret that Floki is flying high, and the MemeFi project has so much going on right now that it can be hard to keep up with all the moving parts. On February 6th, core team member B participated in a monthly AMA to provide the latest information on the rapidly growing project.

Topics covered included condolences for the victims of the Turkey-Syria earthquake, new price feeds for $FLOKI, the Valhalla game, China news, the potential for a Floki Layer-2 chain, burn plans and future efforts.

Let’s get to it:

Turkey earthquake

B began the AMA by noting the devastating impact the recent earthquake had on Turkey, home to a significant part of the Viking community.

“Our Turkish Vikings are an important part of this project; they are one of our largest and most passionate communities and a central part of what we do here. “Seeing what they’re going through right now with the devastating earthquake breaks my heart and gives me so much pain,” B said.

Chainlink, Price Feeds

Smart contractor network Chainlink keeps track of the increased trading volume and activity around Floki. B said: “I think they are likely to reactivate the FLOKI price flows soon if the current volume/momentum is maintained.”

Furthermore, B shared some news that Floki is talking to several other oracle solutions, including one that is now finalizing Floki price feeds.

“Once this price feed is done, you should start seeing some really BIG DeFi integrations very soon, possibly even as early as this month! 🤔,” said B.

Valhalla

B noted the early popularity of the Valhalla game as evidence of Floki’s retail popularity, saying it was the most active project on the Optimism Goerli testnet. Furthermore, B singled out Valhalla as a future onboarding mechanism for mainstream players in Floki and blockchain gaming in general.

“The game economy is nearing completion, but it’s going to be designed to both 1) move large chunks of FLOKI tokens out of circulation into the Valhalla economy 2) be easy for people to play with as little barrier to entry as possible ,” B said.

China

For several days, the project team has been hyping a planned February 7 announcement about China. B dropped some hints about the nature of the announcement in the AMA:

“Be on the lookout for our announcement of our China move tomorrow, and imagine what we can do in the other regions mentioned above when Valhalla is finally live!”

“Oh, and I think tomorrow’s announcement will give a lot of people an idea of how strategic we can be in positioning Floki and our utility products (especially Valhalla!) to take market share and mainstream users where it matters. That will be very clear soon that we don’t joke, play or sleep here at Floki HQ. We’re serious!”

Floki Blockchain?

Rival MemeFi project Shiba Inu has been making waves in the crypto space with the development of their upcoming Shibarium Layer-2 blockchain. During the AMA, a questioner asked if the Floki team had considered creating their own blockchain or Layer-2 solution for the Floki ecosystem.

B replied: “This is a very interesting question to which I can only give one answer: No comment at this time.”

$FLOKI burning, staking

B expressed some surprise that the shutdown of the project’s Ethereum-BNB chain bridge and the accompanying massive burning of $FLOKI received as much public attention as it did. B rather emphasized that the closure of the transverse chain bridge was crucial from a safety point of view, in order to protect the project from exploitation.

“So disabling the bridge and burning the symbols that reside within it is the SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT thing we can do to protect Floki,” B said.

Going forward, B said the best way to control the supply of $FLOKI is through transactional burns, “and there will be a lot of that in the future.”

Regarding plans to stake $FLOKI, B leaked some alpha: “Floki DAO will vote on a PIVOTAL proposal related to this very soon.”

B said: “I think the recent vote to disable/burn the bridge and reduce the transaction tax is the most pivotal vote Floki has had. I think the stake-related vote, which will happen very soon, is just as pivotal. Stay tuned!”

A question that is on everyone’s lips, but was not asked during the AMA, is if and when $FLOKI will be listed on the Binance Centralized Exchange.

(Remember that Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao (CZ) recently warned that projects not yet listed on Binance, which say they will be listed on Binance, will receive an “automatic blacklist” from CEX.)

With the value of $FLOKI skyrocketing, B said that “We don’t care about token price. None!”

Interestingly, the first item B mentioned in the list of things the team focuses on is the number of $FLOKI holders. Several times in the AMA, B used the 400,000+ $FLOKI holders as the key metric to assess the success of the project.

Regular readers of BSC News should note that, according to CZ, the number one thing Binance looks for when deciding to list a project is, yes, the number of users.

What is Floki:

Floki Inu began with a tweet from Elon Musk. When the billionaire announced that he would name his Shiba Inu puppy Floki, it created a deluge of “Floki” dog coins. The most successful of these is Floki Inu. Floki Inu is currently the third most popular meme token on the market, behind Dogecoin and Shiba Inu. It is supported by a community of dedicated enthusiasts and a strong marketing campaign.
