Stardust NFT project artist Coco was criticized for allegedly stealing other people’s artwork. Consequently, the founder used professional photographs and photos of public people to create his own collectibles.
The NFT community is now discussing whether Coco’s image references are in fact a theft. Meanwhile, the artist said that each reference was copyright-free “as far as she knows”.
On June 29, the Twitter account @NFTtheft put the spotlight on Coco – the founder behind Stardust’s new NFT project. The group mainly accused the Coco of stealing other people’s work. Apparently the artist had used images that belonged to models, photographers, stylists and more,
In the same chirping, NFT Theft also included several examples of Coco’s references. Examples include entrepreneur Rashmi Bhanja and model Millie Hannah among others.
