Brick Beads NFT Artist Interview | NFT CULTURE | NFTs and crypto art

Where are you from? (Provide some of your background, have you moved, etc.)

I’m originally from Rimini, Italy. I moved to London in 2015 at the age of 9, and have been ever since.

Can you tell us about your background and what led you down the path to becoming an artist and eventually experimenting with NFTs?

My artistic background started right at the beginning of my life, art has always been at the core. It all started with making drawings on Microsoft Paint and making book covers on paper. Since then, when I moved to London, I started making small journals. However, my artistic path began when I started creating Microsoft PowerPoint presentations. It increased my interest in design even more, and taught me the power of learning new skills. Speaking specifically of art, I started learning 3D with SketchUp Pro in early 2019, when I bought my first 3D printer at the time. I improved my skills year by year by making vases and accessories for “my” online store. 2021 was a life-changing year, when I started competing in architectural competitions and went into a more business-focused mindset. NFTs really started as just another task in the calendar. The chances of me starting this journey were actually crazy, but finally started in December 2021, and have since not regretted, actually went all-in, finishing school at 15 years old to focus on the arts.

When did you create your first NFT? Which platform did you choose and why?

My first NFTs were minted around the beginning of December 2021, just when I started. I did not really know much about them, and lazy imprinted them on Rarible in no collection. It was not a fixed number or anything, because I had no idea what I was doing. Since then, I have burned everything on Rarible, and started the journey again with new BrickBeads in March 2021 on OpenSea and more. I chose OpenSea for the main collection because it is the largest NFT marketplace, in addition to the fact that it was cheap for me to start.

Can you tell us something you can not live without? (and why)

I certainly could not live without music. The reason is that it is the most powerful energy source for art and life in general. If I feel depressed, it can make me think of a bright future, while for art it makes me concentrate, makes me fall free and happy, and as if time does not exist at all.

Who is your favorite artist (s) (Not NFT)? What about their style resonating with you

There are many artists that I feel great respect for, and it would not be fair to point out just one. Each has its own iconic style; I would like to add to the list Federico Clapis, 0xTjo, Four IV, OtherWorld, FVCK Render, Mark Inducil, Ronald Ong, 1DontKnows and many more … Special mention to the famous XCOPY and Beeple, which I admire and look up to. Talking about styles, it’s just a connection. As soon as I saw their art, I loved it, they really appealed to me quickly.

Who is your favorite NFT artist? What makes this artist unique?

If I had to analyze only one artist in the gang, it would be Federico Clapis. I happened to hear his name in 2020, “long before NFTs became mainstream”. The unique thing about this artist

What made you invest in NFT art?

What made me focus on NFT art instead of creating a business, which I ran at the time, is the passion. Look, I thought artists were people who could not make enough money to survive back in 2019. But understanding the environment and technology behind NFTs, made me stop everything I did, and as I already said, go all-in . I will make art all my life, and NFTs are the beginning and hopefully also the future. It’s something special, and it’s just the beginning.

What is the one NFT you wish you had bought but missed

Although I sold countless NFTs and grew a lot, I have not properly purchased an NFT yet. The reason is that I am trying to save up for a new studio, equipment and more. I definitely plan to buy art from selected artists soon, since I am a big believer in NFTs and the art itself.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go? Why this location?

I live in London, which is without a doubt one of the best places in the world. In terms of travel, I do not really care so much about the destination, rather the journey itself. My dream with this profession is to be able to travel all the time, at the same time as I take with me the equipment to create.

What are your other passions besides art? Why?

My passions are many apart from art, but the most important thing is clearly technology. I love NFTs for being close to screens and stuff. I have been a fan of cutting-edge technology for a long time, writing books and running incredible devices. It is also

Do you make other forms of art?

When it comes to other forms of art, yes and no. My most important is without a doubt 3D and soon animation. I have always hated physical art, such as painting, modeling, collage … But I myself am a big fan and professional artist in graphic design, presentation design and book covers / logo design.

Are you self-taught or trained?

My style, at least in NFTs, is the BrickBeads world itself. How I came up with that, it’s a great story. It started when BrickBeads were simple squarish characters in mid-2019, and were to be used for 3D printing that served as vases. They did not work, so I put them in a web folder … until I used the idea, turned it into something special and they started at the end of 2021. My style, with BrickBeads, is about constant improvement. Talking about the name, since it represents the style, was actually coincidental. I took 5 minutes off, and I got the idea for the name, which is strategically constructed with two 5-letter words beginning with the letter B for easy brand recognition.

How did you come up with your specific style?

My style is getting better every day. Improvement is my main mission / focus, and it makes me proud to see it happen, significantly every month. I mean, I went from making poorly rendered cubes to complex 3D characters and more in just ~ 6 months.

How has your style evolved over the years?

I have already collaborated with some artists, and do not intend to collaborate with the first. Although I have some ideas in mind …

What comes in the near future?

As for the upcoming fall, yes. Like I said, SuperRare genesis, my best work of art was coming in early September (this year) and more BrickBeads are coming to the BrickBeads 2 collection.
