y00ts NFT coin continues to make headlines, this time thanks to NFT whale Franklin. The collector, whose portfolio currently has 60 chained monkeys, earned 90 SOL by selling y00t’s mint spot. Soon enough, this controversial move sparked controversy among collectors. In fact, even DeGods’ founder Frank Franklin addressed the decision via Twitter,
All in all, the sale was undoubtedly profitable – but was it worth the NFT community’s mixed reaction?
On September 5th, the delayed y00ts NFT coin finally happened, much to the delight of collectors. However, some of the coiners had other plans in mind, including the Bored Ape NFT Whale Franklin. He is the sixth largest Bored Ape collector who currently has more than 60 PFPs.
Surprisingly, Twitter NFT influencer y00ts sold his digital asset just hours after minting. His plan was to sell the coin while there was still hype around the drop for maximum profit – and it worked.
“I was able to sell my coin for 127.41 SOL after fees,” he wrote in a tweet. “I spent about 37 SOL on $DUST, and paid 6.85 SOL to the team through royalties on my sales. It was a great achievement to make this list and I will work hard to make future lists!”
In other words, Franklin earned 90 SOL by flipping the y00ts collectible. As usual, the NFT community was quick to respond, including DeGod’s and y00t’s creator, Frank.
At first, yoot’s founder Frank seemed bothered by Franklin’s decision to sell his coin. One of his not so subtle ones responds via Twitter It should be fun though when the DeGods turn the Apes this year. The message obviously refers to Franklin, who is a leading BAYC NFT collector.
Still, the NFT whale made sure everyone understood his goal to collect “as many monkeys as possible.” In fact, we went on to explain that “a 90 SOL profit for an inexperienced SOL trader is hard to say no to”.
Meanwhile, the feud between Frank and Franklin continued. In a Twitter thread posted hours ago, Franklin stated that he is “more obsessed with BAYC Apes than Frank is about DeGods/y00ts/DUST”.
Regardless, one thing is certain: Franklin’s remarkable y00t NFT flip stands as proof of the collection’s current value. At the time of writing, y00ts has already passed 190k SOL less than 24 hours after the drop.
