Bloxsmith Launches Raiders Rumble on the Flow Blockchain to Bring Mainstream Users to Web3

Bloxsmith, a player-first Web3 game studio, is pleased to announce that the open beta for the game Raiders Rumble is now available for download on the Apple App Store and Google Play.

Raiders Rumble is an esports mobile game that offers players a unique 1v1 match battle experience powered by the Flow blockchain. The game features a daily rotation of tournament modes where the top 50 percent of contestants can win in-game items or RUMB tokens, Raiders Rumble’s original tokens. The game is designed to challenge players to make quick strategic decisions, especially when countering moves made by their opponents.

Unlike similar projects on the market, players of Raiders Rumble do not need a crypto wallet or digital collectibles (NFT) to start playing the game. This is because the NFTs do not provide any advantages in combat in the game. However, these NFTs have many unique features that make them very valuable to collectors.

Commenting on the launch, Bloxsmith co-founder and CEO Wayne Lee stated:

“For our first game, we wanted to pioneer a new type of competitive mobile strategy game that would help bridge the gap between traditional and Web3 players. We’re excited to work with the Flow blockchain – it solves the scalability issue for games and digital collectibles. With frictionless onboarding, social logins and familiar payment methods, Flow is built from the ground up to make it easier for ordinary users and brands to transition from Web2 to Web3.”

A group of passionate gaming veterans created Bloxmith from Riot Games, Punpkin VR Facebook Gaming and Blizzard Entertainment. Since launching in 2021, the project has attracted several investors, including Infinity Ventures Crypto, Moon Holdings, Bitoro, SEA Pixel, Dapper Labs, Vayala, Moon and Results.io.

According to Chirag Narang, Product Manager at Flow, Raiders Rumble is an excellent example of how a mobile game can introduce users to Web3 while still appealing to a mainstream audience. Chirang adds that the game’s design and player onboarding align well with the Flow vision and goals, particularly introducing mainstream users to Web3.

Flow is a decentralized layer one blockchain that is frictionless, secure and environmentally friendly. The blockchain was created to empower developers to innovate while allowing them to push their boundaries to bring in the next billion to Web3.

To celebrate the launch and the esports nature of the game, the team behind the project will be hosting three Flow-sponsored bonus tournaments. During these events, players will have the opportunity to win FLOW tokens. The tournaments will run from March 23, 2023 to March 31, 2023 and offer players a total prize pool of $120,000 in FLOW.
