Blockchain hackathon held in Bengaluru | Bengaluru

A two-day blockchain hackathon, ‘Building Future Cities’, will be held here from 5 August. The hackathon is organized by the Crypto investment app CoinSwitch, in collaboration with ‘Startup Karnataka’, a Karnataka Government initiative, and Tejasvi Surya, Member of Parliament (South Bangaluru).

It is also supported by Sequoia India. The hackathon will challenge participants to envision a blockchain-driven India, focusing on smart mobility, energy credits and trade, decentralized waste management, secure digital identity and certificate management, efficient and transparent vaccine distribution, among other things, the organizers said in a statement Thursday.

The winners will be rewarded with a prize of three lakh, with the total prize pool for the hackathon added six lakh.

Participants can participate in the competition individually or in a team of up to four members, it was said. Karnataka is the torchbearer of Digital India.

The state has an excellent track record with close cooperation between the government and entrepreneurs. This hackathon enables Karnataka to bring this success story to the next frontier of technology – blockchain – and gives young innovators the opportunity to harness the power of blockchain for the public good, Karnataka IT Minister Ashwath Narayan told CN.

    Maharashtra reduces petrol prices by 5 per liter, diesel by 3 per liter
