Blockchain as a service and platform: nChain VIP Club private event

The Philippine Blockchain Week (PBW22) was well attended by many influential organizations and one of the companies that contributed part of the success of the week-long event was the global blockchain technology company nChain.
nChain hosted its private VIP Club event during PBW22, which saw attendees from various sectors in the digital currency and private space as well as government. Among them were Maria Francesca Del Rosario, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Budget and Management, and Janelle Barretto, Chief Interlocutor of PBW22.
The duo talked about emerging blockchain technology and how it should be implemented. They also shared their experiences during the private event. Del Rosario continued first, sharing with CoinGeek Backstage why blockchain is a topic close to her heart.
“I wrote an article about blockchain and how to solve the refugee crisis. So this time with the government, [I am] translate my claim into actual implementation. It is good to hear colleagues from nChain talk about how technology can provide efficient, transparent systems not only for the private sector, but also for the government,” said Del Rosario.
The undersecretary also noted how she is serious about the data integrity platform, and the concept of data integrity as a service is relatively new to her as the concept of blockchain as a service.
“Right now [in the blockchain space], it’s really about platforms. Right now it’s low code, no code, plug-and-play, and those are the things we were looking at in the government…[So] “It’s really refreshing to see those guys talk about it,” she said.
Del Rosario also praised the efforts of nChain to help the Philippines bridge the gaps in services provided by the private sector and the government.
“I think we can provide really, really good citizen engagement, citizen services for everyone. And much, much cheaper, it’s transparent and efficient for everyone,” she said.
In this episode, PBW22 main convener and co-organizer Janelle Barretto also praised how supportive nChain has been and expressed that she is honored to have them as a partner during the event.
“It’s been fantastic so far. We have of course received a lot of good feedback – as a convener and as an organizer – you have a lot of expectations of yourself. We set the standards very high. We have ambitions. And, of course, the reality is that there are things that can always go wrong, but overall, I think the proof is in the pudding. The feedback from those who attend will tell you that they had a great experience,” noted Baretto.
“We have high hopes for the partnership and hopefully it will be sustainable,” she said, speaking of nChain.
