Bitcoin, Ethereum rise slightly, Shiba Inu up 3%, Stargate Finance (STG) most popular crypto

The biggest cryptocurrencies, Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH)along with popular commemorative coins Shiba Inu traded with gains. Other altcoins traded too much in the green zone, although the meme coin Dogecoin traded at a loss. The most popular coin today was Stargate Finance (STG) and the biggest gainer was EOS (EOS).

The global crypto market cap was up 0.95 percent to $1.02 trillion at 8:50 a.m. However, global crypto volume was down 19.3 percent to $58.68 billion, according to Coinmarketcap data.

Trading volume in the decentralized financial coin section is around $4.51 billion, or 7.68 percent of the total 24-hour volume of the crypto market. The volume of all stablecoins is $56.09 billion, or about 95.59 percent of the total crypto market volume in the last 24 hours.

The day’s biggest gainer was EOS (EOS), which was up 8.18 percent to $1.54. The biggest loser was Celsius (CEL), which was down 18.29 percent to $2.15.

Cryptocurrency prices

Bitcoin (BTC)

Bitcoin rose 0.83 percent to $21,439.97.

In terms of price analysis, BTC was trading at a loss for most of August 21, but sometime around 13.39 got the price up significantly. This momentum lifted the price of Bitcoin for the rest of the day and continues to do so today as well. Although the price of BTC is currently trading with gains, trading is very choppy and volatile, resulting in frequent ups and downs in price.

The lowest price for BTC today was $21,103.20 and trading volume was down 11.23 percent to $23,420,754,624.

Ethereum (ETH)

The price of Ethereum this morning was $1,608.35, which is a gain of 0.7 percent in the last 24 hours.

Like BTC, ETH also traded in losses for most of August 21 until after 13.39, when the price suddenly rose. This suddenly accelerated, causing the price of ETH to cross the $1,600 mark. But then at around 03:44 on August 22nd, the ETH price fully diluted all the gains and slid right past the $1,600 mark and further into the red territory. But this lasted about 15 minutes because at 3:59 AM ETH was back in the green territory, above $1,600.


The lowest price for ETH today was $1,569.05. ETH’s trading volume decreased by 11.92 percent to $15,717,250,868.

Other Altcoins

Solana’s price rose by 2.45 percent to $36.38 today.

Cardano (ADA) rose 2.05 percent to $0.4607. The 24-hour trading volume for ADA fell by 13.85 percent to $614,819,862.

Binance (BNB) was up 5.13 percent at $300.02. Its 24-hour trading volume increased by 5.88 percent to $1,300,336,170.

Meme Coins

Dogecoin (DOGE) fell 0.64 percent to $0.0689. Its 24-hour trading volume was down 17.42 percent to $416,909,922.

Shiba Inu (SHIB) was up 3 percent at $0.00001346.

Decentralized Finance (DeFi)

Yearn.Finance (YFI) rose 1.09 percent to $8,746.36. Its 24-hour trading volume was down 24.17 percent to $39,995,144.

Avalanche (AVAX) was up 0.81 percent at $22.73 and 24-hour trading volume was up 2.5 percent at $493,720,338.

Aave (AAVE) traded up 2.99 percent to $85.59
and its 24-hour trading volume was down 10.11 percent to $132,239,849.
