Binance is pushing crypto as a global currency
Cryptotourism is now a thing. Well, it will be if Binance has anything to do with it. A new marketing push from the cryptocurrency exchange will see Binance give away $50,000 in prizes. The catch is that enthusiasts have to find it in a scavenger hunt.
Binance is pushing its first-ever crypto-sponsored vacation in an effort to show enthusiasts that using crypto to travel is more efficient than using fiat.
Binance has hired two travel influencers to help them drive the idea, Lauren Bullen and Jack Morris. These influencers are based in Bali and have three children together. The social media giants (with more than 2 million followers each) are so perfect that looking directly at them is almost dangerous to your soul. It’s like if the bull market were people, it would be them.
Binance hopes that these two absolutely perfect influencers will convince people to give up traditional currency and travel the world using only cryptocurrencies.
Crypto tourism will be a thing
James Rothwell is Global Vice President of Marketing at Binance. “Cryptotourism makes global travel easier and safer for everyone. It’s also an economical choice, as there are zero fees, full transaction transparency and no country-by-country exchange rate issues. The ease of using crypto while traveling is a testament to its incredible mainstream the global adoption we’re starting to see.”
Binance Pay positions itself as a contactless and borderless payment technology. Lauren and Jack will now be required to create content using crypto for travel in a borderless way. The Barbie and Ken dolls to influence will show that crypto tourism is now a thing. Or should be.
Lauren and Jack will book their usual itineraries, except pay with crypto. They will also pay for services and all their physical goods using crypto, via Binance Pay.
Jack said: “I’ve dedicated my life to traveling and now it’s a burden to do it without having to worry about exchange rates or carrying physical cash. People think global travel has to be super expensive and complicated – it’s not. And we want to show people that crypto travel makes it even easier.”
Treasure hunt
Lauren and Jack will hide a Binance gift card in a secret place separately. Each of these cards is worth $25,000 in BNB. People who follow the influencers can find out where these cards are located by using clues that Jack and Lauren have posted on their profiles.
Once the prizes are found, new Binance accounts will be activated if the winners do not already have an account with the platform. Then $25,000 in BNB will be transferred to the wallets of the two winners.
Binance said the travel industry has been hit hard by the pandemic. Market volatility and geopolitical conflict also affect the industry. “Between travel restrictions, airline cancellations and large crowds, travel has felt anything but easy. The campaign will demonstrate that crypto-backed travel is not only a reality, but a more practical way to explore the world.”
Lauren said: “I love venturing into new territory and crypto travel is just that. This is just the beginning of a whole new amazing world for people who love to travel.”
I really hope the next influencers Binance picks are crypto bros and NFT chicks. Digital asset nerds like vacations too, okay?
