BHUTAN POST COMMEMORATES THE BEAUTIFUL PARO TAKTSHANG MONASTERY IN A NEW NFT STAMP ISSUANCE

Bhutan Post launches its third issue of NFT stamps on Stampsdaq.com dedicated to the iconic Paro Taktsang monastery with unique opportunities for collectors

THIMPHU, TALLINN, 9 Februaryth2023 Following the country’s long-standing philatelic tradition, this year, to remember the 43rd Birthday of His Majesty the King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, Bhutan Postthe national postal operator of the Kingdom of Bhutan, will release it stampsdaq.com The NFT version of the stamp issued in 2015 and dedicated to one of the most famous places in the Kingdom of Bhutan – the Paro Taktshang Monastery, also known as the Tiger’s Nest. This will be the first NFT stamp of many to showcase the beauty, history and spirit of the monasteries of Bhutan.

The history of Paro Taktshang dates back to the eighth century to the time of Guru Padmasambhava, known to Bhutanese as Guru Rinpoche. The holy nyes (places) blessed by the Guru throughout the kingdom are revered pilgrimage sites for Buddhists from all over the world. Guru Rinpoche is believed to have flown to Paro Taktshang on the back of a tiger and, in his manifestation of the raging Dorij Droley, tamed the negative spirits that haunted Bhutan’s valleys. Today, the Guru is omnipresent in the kingdom through his images and spirit.
