Bahrain to host top fintech summit

Bahrain will host the first Fintech Forward 2023 (FF23) on 12 October, bringing together global fintech and entrepreneurial players, financial institutions, investors, industry experts and thought leaders.

Under the patronage of the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB), the three-day event will be held in a strategic partnership with the Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB), and powered by Bahrain FinTech Bay (BFB).

Featured in FF23 will be a number of immersive digital experiences, innovative activations and sessions for knowledge sharing.

In response to global trends, where artificial intelligence and digital technologies are dramatically reshaping all sectors of the economy, the fintech space remains an important and growing sub-sector of the financial sector in Bahrain.

Due to CBB’s established success in improving the competitiveness of the Kingdom’s financial services sector and the transition to a digital economy by continuously updating its regulatory framework and legislation, all while introducing innovative platforms such as the Regulatory Sandbox.

Alongside EDB’s success in attracting high-impact and sustainable investment into the Kingdom, further enhanced by BFB’s role as the country’s fintech hub, housing and driving the growth and development of fintech startups, Bahrain is earning a fast-growing reputation as a leading regional hub of fintech.

The upcoming FF23 aims to further strengthen the Kingdom as a destination for all things fintech, encouraging idea generation and investment support through impactful conversations and sessions that address themes across three main pillars: innovation, regulation and investment. Alongside an event in partnership with Economist Impact, innovative hackathons, entertainment events and experiences will be held in several different locations around Bahrain.

In parallel with its digital agenda, Bahrain has made phenomenal progress in developing its human pool of talent, supported by a progressive government and sophisticated ICT infrastructure.

The event is in line with the Kingdom’s vision to invest in digital transformation, expand the fintech space and top talent to drive Bahrain’s fintech ecosystem forward.
